Pints & Pelvic Floors: The Podcast - Episode 17: Bladder Irritants & the Holiday Season

Episode 17 Recap:

  • Top bladder irritants:
  • caffeine
  • carbonation
  • alcohol
  • artificial sweeteners
  • citrus
  • tomato based foods
  • spicy foods
  • Not all of these foods/drinks are going to be YOUR irritants. Each of them can affect people differently so test it out and figure out which of these bother your bladder before you decide to eliminate them.
  • I don’t typically have my patients cut them out completely - instead I have them drink more water
  • Water is key in helping to dilute these irritants in the bladder to keep it happier
  • Don’t forget - sip your water, don’t gulp it! Chugging a whole bottle of water does not work inside your body the same as slowly sipping it over time. Your body will process all the extra water out as waste if you consume it too fast.

Okay so you read the books, took the classes, and followed the Instagrammers to get ready for labor and delivery. But did any of them talk about healing after c-section?
